SimplaceX | Enriched serum replacement, human cell line-derived

SimplaceX is an universal supplement for serum-free cell culture processes. It contains proteins produced by continuously growing hepatocyte-derived cell lines in a concentrated and purified form as well as trace elements, recombinant growth factors, vitamines and essential co-factors.

The supplement is available in two variations:

• As a frozen liquid (100 mg | 10 mg/ml)  (108103-100MG).
• As a lyophilised solid (10 mg)  (108104-10MG), which provides improved shipping and storage behaviour and is reconstituted in sterile water

It is used to replace foetal calf serum as well as human serum or platelet lysate from standard media for cell cultivation and contains proteins such as:

• Transportproteins: Transferrin, serum albumin (low amount), transthyretin, apolipoprotein B-100
• Adhesion factors: Fibronectin, various laminins
• Protease inhibitors: alpha-1-antitrypsin, alpha-2-macroglobulin, plasminogen activator inhibitor
• low amount in growth factors, but includes insulin, EGF and other growth factors
• Contains vitamines, essential co-factors, hormones and trace elements

The formulation allows the use in common basal media such as DMEM/F12 or RPMI1641 with no further additions.

Application note | Characteristics

SimplaceX is sterile and ready-to-use upon reconstitution or thawing, respectively. Since SimplaceX is produced in a controlled, chemically defined process as well as dialysed, small molecules such as hormones, metabolites and media components are not present.

It can be applied to cell cultures directly 1:500 to 1:2000 dilution. In lyophilised form it is reconstituted im medium directly or sterile water.
